Food - Bakeries & Cafes

Seems like all of the sudden, Chattanooga is blessed with new bakeries and cafes! Here are a few lovely spots to enjoy a pastry and coffee, and maybe even a fresh bouquet of flowers.

Petal and Pour

The first time I ventured into this beautiful, old space was a solo trip one afternoon after a doctor’s appointment downtown. It was the perfect excuse to wander into this gorgeous spot on Broad Street. I had the scrumptious macarons, provided by another bakery, Oui Oui Boulangerie (this French bakery is on East Main Street and I cannot wait to go there next!) They were as good as the macarons from Laduree….no exaggeration.

The blueberry cream cheese pastry and iced “La vie en Rose” latte was delicious! There are pretty marble tables inside and a couple outside. They also feature gift items for purchase and postcards you may write to someone!

Back for more!

My second visit here was with a friend and of course, I chose more macarons. One box for me, one for my hubby.

The background shows the flower bar, where you may create your own bouquet to take home or to brighten someone’s day. There is a small or large option.

The second time around, I opted for a hot coffee since it was raining outside. Seemed cozy to order their garden latte with rose, lavender and bergamot.

had the pour and the petal

This time, I chose some pretty blooms to bring home. They wrap them up so nicely .

I chose shades of pink, yellow and white with a peony, carnation, chrysanthemums, lisianthus, delphinium, eucalyptus and a couple I couldn’t identify but are enchanting.

It’s good to have a peony again since our plant had finished blooming. I LOVE mixing different shades of pink together. They smell amazing!

Wayward Pastry

My hubby and I made our way to St. Elmo on his day off and enjoyed a “day date” at this charming bakery. I had a hot latte and a bacon, cheese and date scone. They were both delicious!

David had a drip coffee and pain au chocolat. We enjoyed sitting outside on their charming patio.

This is their cheery front door and was a firehouse in a former life.

The patio is surrounded by gorgeous trees, which provide good shade.

second visit

The next time, I took a friend of mine and we ate inside since the outdoor tables were a bit wet due to some rain. I sat on a comfy velvet settee and chose the orange cardamom bun with an iced pistachio latte. Both were scrumptious! My friend had an iced chai tea and orange almond croissant. It is such a cozy, old space to slow down and relax. There is free street parking along the residential road beside the bakery.

Not sure if this is a hibiscus or rose of Sharon but this huge plant graces the side of the bakery.
